Bea produces perhaps his most renowned wine from pure Sagrantino grown on the prized hilltop site of Pagliaro. The Bea family is one of the most noteworthy names in the Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG and their family approach to winemaking can be described as traditional and non-interventionalist. On the nose, intensely concentrated ripe fruit, expect bramble fruit, cassis and black raspberry to shine through. Subtle notes of dark sultanas, fig and prunes unfold as beautifully integrated oak rounds out the flavor, with hints of tobacco, black tea and dried herbs to balance the fruit. Full bodied, deep and velvety this is truly a spectacular wine.
