ODVI (pronounced eau-de-vie, see what they did there?) is a stunning, modern interpretation of the oldest distilled spirit in France - Armagnac. Armagnac is naturally small batch and incredibly nuanced with a wider variance in taste and style than its more well known cousin Cognac. ODVI is made from a blend of Baco, Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche grapes and uses the traditional method of one continuous distillation of the white wine from these grapes. Aged for two years in oak barrels the ODVI rests in new barrels first and is then transferred to older barrels where the spirit continues to develop. The results of all this extra care and attention is an exceptionally smooth spirit with pure fruit notes and a peppery finish. This particular Armagnac was crafted with cocktails in mind, choosing to emphasise bold character and structure in the body and fresh prune and peach notes on the palate to make a seamless mixing agent for virtually any cocktail.
