Monsecco was a well-known, well-regarded producer in northern Piedmont for decades. But in the 70's, Lorenzo Zanetta, the owner, decided to stop producing his own wines and focus strictly on working in the negociant business. It wasn¿t until the 90¿s that Lorenzo¿s grandchildren decided to revive the Monsecco legacy. Today, Monsecco makes traditional wines that possess clarity, power and elegance. In this Gattinara you will find a great balance of black fruits like blackberry, cassis and blueberry with the prominent licorice and toasted oak flavors. This is a sturdy, age-worthy wine that will pair well with steaks, lamb, sausages and other hearty fare.
