The story of Kumeu River Wines began in the 1930s, with the first generation of the Brajkovich family to arrive in New Zealand from Croatia. After a few years of working in the gum fields, the family moved to West Auckland, where they worked in local vineyards and orchards, eventually purchasing what would become Kumeu River Wines in 1944. Today, the winery is one of New Zealand’s best and the Brajkovichs are internationally recognized for their world-class wines, such as this exciting Pinot Noir from Hawkes Bay. The wine opens with bright, ripe red fruit aromas and notes of fresh sweet herbs that elegantly blossom on the palate, framed by a food-friendly tannin and acidity. Add your favorite cheese and grilled chicken and veggie skewers, then kick back and watch the good times unfold.
