Immich-Batterieberg is one of the oldest estates in the Mosel, dating back to 911 AD. The winery¿s name is taken from the hill that Carl August Immich dynamited in the 1840s, translating to 'battered mountain'. The rocky, quartz encrusted gray slate results in a deeply complex wine with aromas of sourdough bread, juicy orchard fruit and smoke. On the palate it is rich and full-bodied, with poached pear, lemon curd, dusty tannins and a salty, lingering finish.
