Laely Heron was one of the first women in California to make her own wine sold under her own label. Her goal is to produce serious, soulful wines from grapes grown in the finest appellations. Three appellations contribute to the complexity of this wine by Laely Heron, Rutherford, Pope Valley, and Mendocino. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. Dark plum in color, with notes of ripe black cherry, fragrant lavender, violet, black olive, rich dark chocolate, spices and wild herbs. Remarkably smooth, yet light on its feet, with balanced acidity and tannin, the wine is perfect with cozy evenings, cheese boards, burgers and roasted meats.
