The Vigouroux family has been making wine since 1867 on a site that has been a vineyard since the middle ages. Georges Vigoroux is the third generation to run the winery, having taken over in 1963. Cahors is the traditional home of Malbec where it has been cultivated since the Roman era. Pigmentum is a Latin word meaning "thing that gives colour", the origin of the English word "pigment". This cuvee is made from Malbec grapes that grow along the Lot river and is aged in barrel for 18-24 months before bottling. Powerful aromas on the nose of red and black fruits: raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry, which continues in the mouth. Ripe tannins are supported by the fruit flavours. A soft and easy wine to drink now or within two years.
