Els Vinyerons is a joint venture between Amós Bañeres and Alex Ruiz in Penedès, Catalonia. Amós is a former pharmacist who grew tired with his occupation and started to make natural wine in 2011 under the Amós Bañeres name. He joined with Alex, a winemaker who had been making Cava for his family winery and was yearning for a fresh challenge-- to make inexpensive, unsulphured, terroir-driven wines. This biodynamic Xarel-lo offers notes of white pepper onand flint on the nose, and a spicily complex notes of pear blossom, Gala apple, and white peach, balanced by crisply balanced acidity and creamy texture. This wine is gorgeous with bruschetta topped with grated Manchego, baked fish, and light poultry and vegetable dishes. Vegan.
