Made from the interesting, native grape Macabeu, this fortified dessert wine from Roussillon is both rare and delicious. The grapes are harvested late, then pressed, fermented and fortified in tanks. After an amazing harvest in 2001, this wine was put in barrel where it sat for 12 years, finally being bottled in 2013. The lengthy barrel aging results in an extremely complex wine that unfolds flavor after flavor. Dried fruits, nuts, caramel and subtle notes of oranges and apricots.
