One of the best, undiscovered young winemakers in Germany, Axel Pauly’s cellars are on the steep slopes of Lieser, the next village up the Mosel from Bernkastel. The estate is certified sustainable and stretching across 9 hectares, focuses on creating wines with purity, length and impressive, slate-driven minerality. This Riesling is no exception. Bright gold in the glass, the wine features notes of hay, lime and peach flowers that blossom on the palate into bold, fleshy fruit. The wine is anchored by a lean core of food-friendly acidity and medium bodied, making an exceptional aperitif or partner for spicy food, salads, or Saturday nights.
